School Loop balances safety, security, ease-of-use, access and system performance.

Application Service Provider (ASP).  School Loop is an ASP - an application that is hosted remotely in a secure data center and accessed via the Internet.  ASP’s are common and safe; they lower infrastructure costs, reduce IT staff workload and provide distributed, 24x7 access.

Java Application.  School Loop is a custom Java application with a fully scalable three-tiered architecture. 

Student Information System Integration. School Loop integrates with any JDBC or ODBC compliant database.  We copy, encrypt and send master schedule information daily, but don’t write data or touch personal information. 

Hosting Infrastructure. School Loop is hosted in a dedicated rack at Internap. 

Email System.  StrongMail® servers provide a highly reliable email service. 

Browser & Email Requirements.  School Loop is accessed over the Internet via a browser: IE 5.x (or higher) running on Win 98, Mac OS9, or better.
